We are a young Swiss couple who dreamed of owning a château
Unfortunately, in Switzerland such a property is out of reach, which is why we turned to France. Many years passed as we explored various castles in the beautiful French countryside, but the visit in February 2014 was very different. That month, we went to see the Château de Vieux Moulin, located in the Nièvre region of Burgundy, and although the gray skies and winter chill were palpable, we literally fell in love with the place.

For the past 10 years, we have been working tirelessly to offer you three guest rooms today. We completed nearly all of the renovation work here at Vieux Moulin ourselves, sometimes with the help of friends, family, and neighbors. There have been highs and lows along the way, as well as the arrival of two little princesses who love more than anything the environment in which they are growing up.
Here, you will find three rooms that transport you to the Middle Ages while combining modern comfort. Our goal is to offer you a truly unique guesthouse experience! Moreover, under our roof, the table d’hôte is central, allowing us to share a proper feast together if your travels ever bring you to Burgundy.
